IGBO DAY 2023 SPONSORS
The Igbo Cultural Association of Saskatchewan (ICAS)
ICAS was established in 2001 with the aim of uniting all members in the province that share our common beliefs and also to promote Igbo culture in our society. ICAS has made large strides since it’s inception and this resulted in the launching of our very own Masquerade dance group in 2002.
Within the community ICAS is engaged in charities and donations. As members of a very diverse dialect we also run our language school to ensure our youths are not too distant from our culture.
Subsequently, efforts have been made to have seminars and workshops to enlighten the public as to the similarities between cultures.
This Web site is structured with the aim of providing viewers with general information of our history, past events, current members and all upcoming events taking place in the province.
Our Mission
Guided by the Igbo ethics of hard work, integrity, respect for self and others, the mission of the Igbo Cultural Association of Saskatchewan Inc. is to achieve its vision through dedicated cultural, educational, charitable, social and economic programs and activities.
Our vision
The vision of the Igbo Cultural Association of Saskatchewan Inc. is to become a model sociocultural organization committed to the progress and advancement of the Province of Saskatchewan and the Igbo Homeland through the pursuit of its objectives.
From the President
I am glad to welcome you here today.
The Igbo Cultural Association of Saskatchewan (ICAS) was founded to promote a smooth integration of new immigrants into society, become a social support network for members and preserve the Igbo Nigerian-Canadian heritage through events, workshops, language and culture education.
We work hard to create opportunities to increase awareness and use of the Igbo language, art and culture in Saskatchewan, as well as honour the contributions of the Nigerian-Canadian people of Igbo descent to the cultural, professional and economic development of Saskatchewan in particular and Canada as a whole.
Within the larger community, ICAS is engaged in charity and donations. We organize a series of yearly events, including seminars and workshops, to enlighten the public as to the similarities between cultures. If you want to learn more about us, a good place to start is with ICAS constitution below.
Thank you.
Dr. Chidi Igwe
